<p>I hope this short article will start making you the website owner think and consider that your website is an asset.</p>
<p>It’s Friday, my tolerance levels are low and my desperation with a client drove me up the wall today.</p>
<p>However I again came to the realization that 99% of companies have websites that fall into the same category.</p>
<p><strong>Some website owners don’t seem to get it!</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Their websites aren’t doing anything for them!</li>
<li>Their websites are only “Online Business Cards”.</li>
<li>Their websites are “Online Brochures”.</li>
</ul>
<p>Their websites should be like “living organisms” it has to be continually fed with information that attract potential customers. A good example of a website that has a life of it&#8217;s own is <a href="http://www.lawcyprus.org">www.lawcyprus.org</a> &#8211; this client continually publishes valuable articles and content.</p>
<p>If you have a website and it is doing nothing for you then the chances are that you have a “Business Card” or “Brochure” type website. It is good to have a website however if you don’t market the website on the internet it will do nothing for you.</p>
<p>I really feel sorry for website owners that have a website built and think that it stops there. To top it off, some people I come across can’t even understand that one has to pay for webhosting to have a website on the internet, we have to educate clients.</p>
<p>I am getting to the point that I don’t even want to fix websites for companies anymore! All they have to do is give me the opportunity or the freedom to build another website that has a life of it’s own and has more value than just an online business card or brochure.</p>
<p>Please know this, your website is an asset, it can work for you, take care of your website and in return it will take care of your business.</p>

<p><strong>In this article I have included not all the questions; however some thought provoking questions you and only you can answer.</strong></p>

<li>Is it not time for you to perhaps take stock of your business, situation and online activities?</li>
<li>What business are you really in? It is very likely that you are in an off-line business in the tangible world but you are utilizing too much time playing with intangible toys online.</li>
<li>Should you not start thinking of ways that your website and online activities can directly enhance the smooth running and success of your tangible off-line business?</li>
<li>If you are trying to generate leads for your product or service take a look at your website and ask yourself – “Does my website call the website visitor in to action by completing and online form?” Would I myself complete the online lead generation form if I was the website visitor?</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ARE WE ADDICTED TO OUR WEBSITE(S)? – IS OUR VALUABLE TIME BEING ROBBED?</strong></p>
<p><strong>Example:-</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>If you are a real estate agent your main business function is to sell real estate, however over time you have researched, studied and learnt some search engine optimization and internet marketing skills and/or you have some ability in building and managing a website and/or blogs.</li>
<li>Now it is very likely that you are spending about 50% of your valuable time in trying to get your website to ranking in Google and other search engines.</li>
<li>The other 40% of your time you are spending on social networks “Tweeting” your heart out on Twitter and getting hooked on Facebook all in the hope of getting clients.</li>
<li>It is very possible that you are currently only dedicating about 10% of your time on your actual business.</li>

<li><strong>Make sure that the title of the blog      post contains the main “anchor link phrase” – The title of this blog post      contains the phrase “Internet Marketing” and the first outbound anchor      link is on the phrase “Internet Marketing” which is pointing to one of our      website EuropeInternetMarketing.com.</strong></li>
